Product Details

White Kidney Beans (White Lobia) are pale, medium-sized beans with a mild flavour and creamy interior when thoroughly cooked. They work well in Pakistani bean curries, mixed lobia dishes, soups, stews and fully cooked salads.

Why choose Arabian Farms White Lobia?

  • Non-hybrid white kidney beans selected for everyday cooking
  • Carefully sorted and graded before hygienic packing
  • No added colours, flavours or preservatives
  • Mild flavour suited to both spiced curries and lighter dishes
  • Batch-coded for accountable handling

Safe soaking and cooking

  1. Inspect and rinse the beans thoroughly.
  2. Soak in plenty of water for 8–12 hours or overnight.
  3. Discard the soaking water and add fresh water.
  4. Bring to a full boil and boil vigorously for at least 10 minutes, then continue cooking until completely tender.

Do not eat kidney beans raw, sprouted or undercooked. A slow cooker alone may not reach a sufficiently high initial temperature; boil first before transferring them for slow cooking.

Best uses

  • White lobia curry with rice or roti
  • Bean and vegetable stew
  • Soup and mixed-bean dishes
  • Fully cooked bean salad
  • Mashed white-bean fillings or spreads

White lobia vs red kidney beans

White lobia has a milder taste and pale colour, while red kidney beans have a deeper colour and fuller flavour. Both require proper soaking and thorough cooking; choose according to the recipe rather than assumed health differences.

Nutrition in context

White kidney beans naturally provide plant protein, dietary fibre and carbohydrates. They should be assessed as part of the complete meal, not promoted with guaranteed digestion, energy or wellness outcomes.

Storage

Keep dry beans sealed in a cool, dry place away from heat, moisture and sunlight. Use a clean, dry scoop and inspect before rinsing.

Frequently asked questions

Must white kidney beans be soaked?

Overnight soaking is recommended because it shortens cooking and helps the beans soften more evenly.

Can I cook white lobia directly in a slow cooker?

Boil soaked kidney beans vigorously for at least 10 minutes first, then transfer them to the slow cooker.

Why are my beans not becoming tender?

Hard water, older beans, inadequate soaking and acidic ingredients added early can extend cooking time.

For a deeper-coloured alternative, compare Red Kidney Beans.
